LULAROE COLLABORATES WITH LOCAL BREAST CANCER ORGANIZATIONS TO BRING AWARENESS AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
LuLaRoe’s third annual Breast Cancer Capsule Collection to benefit The Keep A Breast Foundation and THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser organizations in order to bring awareness and education to the public.
CORONA, California, September 16, 2020 — LuLaRoe, one of the country’s leading family-owned social retail companies, is excited to collaborate with The Keep A Breast Foundation and THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser for LuLaRoe’s third annual Breast Cancer Capsule Collection. This pink inspired limited edition capsule will contribute $1.00 from each piece that is purchased wholesale by LuLaRoe Independent Fashion Retailers. In addition to the $1.00 being contributed from each WE WEAR PINK capsule piece purchased wholesale by LuLaRoe Retailers, we, LuLaRoe, are also directly contributing $1.00 from each WE WEAR PINK capsule piece purchased wholesale by LuLaRoe Retailers, matching each wholesale purchase. We’re so honored for the opportunity to split the funds between the two charities we’re working with — THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser and The Keep A Breast Foundation.
The Keep A Breast Foundation w as founded in 2000 and has focused their efforts on educating the youth on breast cancer education for preventative measures. Founder Shaney jo Darden began in the action sports world and loved the way art and culture thrived in this industry. Saddened by the news of one of her closest friends being diagnosed with breast cancer, she brought her community together, and began to bring awareness through breast casts that were displayed in galleries around the world. Seeing such incredible numbers in donations, they later launched the famous I (Heart) Boobies campaign in 2008. The exciting rubber bracelets drew so many young people and raised millions for their cause. LuLaRoe is excited to team up with The Keep A Breast Foundation in providing educational resources to both LuLaRoe Independent Fashion Retailers and customers.
Founder, Shaney jo Darden shares her excitement with LuLaRoe’s efforts for an educational push towards breast cancer prevention, “Keep A Breast is proud to partner with LuLaRoe. We love to work with brands that share our core values of empowering all women with opportunities and education.”
LuLaRoe’s founders DeAnne and Mark Stidham have been inspired to bring this collection to Independent Fashion Retailers each year and have been incredibly impressed by the determination the LuLaRoe community has brought to the table. Choosing to work with both organizations to help bring breast cancer patients and supporters comfortability through fashion, as well as education, was especially important this year.
“Education is one of the most important preventative measures one can take with their health. Breast cancer is a disease that takes so many women and men each year and we are so excited to work with two local organizations that are striving to make a difference. Each organization brings their own unique presence and we are so thrilled to make a difference together,” said DeAnne and Mark Stidham, founders of LuLaRoe.
THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser began in 2003 and similar to The Keep A Breast story, President and Founder Nilo G. Low was inspired by a friend's breast cancer diagnosis and wanted to show her support by putting on a fundraising event for breast cancer research and awareness. That small get together in her backyard grew annually, and THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser was officially incorporated six years later. T HE Breast Cancer Fundraiser's mission is to preserve the dignity of breast cancer patients and their loved ones by supporting their unmet needs through funding value added services. Their marquee service, the WeCare Program, provides "we care" packages to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients as they begin their journey of treatment. The intention of the program is to let patients know that they're not alone, and "we" as a collective group "care" about them.
"I never could've imagined the potential that would become T HE Breast Cancer Fundraiser," said Nilo G. Low, founder of THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser. "It's a true calling that I feel grateful to be a part of as a volunteer and advocate. With the leadership and passion of Charlotte Martin, a recent breast cancer survivor and Director of Giving at THE BCF, and the great partnerships with companies like LuLaRoe, our grass-roots movement is able to make a huge impact in the lives of hundreds of breast cancer patients each year."
The limited edition LuLaRoe Breast Cancer Collection Capsule launched on September 9th and will directly benefit THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser and The Keep A Breast Foundation. For more information regarding the collection and how to purchase, visit lularoe.com.
